dawn jian was born in Guangzhou and grew up in Canada and the United States. She graduated with a Master of Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2014, completing five years of study and receiving an honors scholarship from MICA. In 2018, Dan was selected as one of China's Top Ten Young Artists by the Youth Art Commune. Since then, her work has been exhibited in both the United States and China. Most recently, in 2024, she participated in the Shanghai Art021 Art Fair with the Macau Huashi Gallery. In 2025, she received the Art Creator Award from the Shanghai LeaderClub Cultural Association. Also in 2025, she joined Affordable Art Fair HK and held a solo exhibition at Wyndham Social in Central, Hong Kong, and participated in the Guangzhou Magic Lantern Contemporary Art Fair with 5+1 GALLERY. Her work is based on a dialogue between "two worlds." Through AI-generated images, her mixed-media works attempt to capture our unique feelings in digital immersion: that captivating yet sometimes overwhelming state of endless scrolling and compulsive refreshing. In this state, our attention is fragmented, and the boundary between reality and virtuality quietly blurs. She currently creates and lives in the Greater Bay Area.

(Master of Art, Maryland Institute College of Art, MICA)連讀五年榮獲MICA榮譽獎學金。
